66 CMAS members acquitted.

Jeypore. June. 24:  As many as 66 Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS) followers were acquitted by the Jeypore Fast track court on 24th June2011 due to lack of sufficient evidence. According to the case details revealed by the defense advocate Dasarathi Patnaik Laxmipur Koraput district police filed a case against 66 members of Naratanapatna Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh alleged that  near about 4 to 5 hundred Sangh members raided on licensed country liquor shops in Laxmipure on August 29th 2009 under the leadership of  Ms.Kumudini Behara a lady revolutionist. They destroyed the liquor and the properties of the vendors, kidnapped 3 workers of the liquor shop and released them after 4 days. In this regard police arrested 66 persons along with the leaders Kumudini Behara and Sahadev Parida and produced them in the court. The Jeypore fast track court Additional District Judge S.Prabhakar Rao examined 14 witnesses and acquitted the 66 accused persons due to lack of evidence. Advocates Dasarathi Patnik, Arati Mahanty and Khalid Khan defended the accused.
