A.E & J.E convicted of corruption a second time

Jeypore.August.5: The Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer of Kudumulagumma block in Malkangiri district who were convicted for graft on 1st of this month (Read the news here) are again convicted in another two cases and handed over the sentence by special vigilance court on 4th August.
It was alleged that during 2004-05 both engineers connived together and executed sub-standard road work through inflated measurement by forging muster rolls and preparing false bills by falsifying official records in Kudumulagumma block road work which caused a loss of  Rs. 3,98,793/- and Rs. 7,63,874/- to the exchequer in two separate incidents. They were convicted in two vigilance cases under 13(2)/13(1)(d) PC Act/420/468/471/477-A sections of IPC and awarded punishment of 2 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.60,000/-, in default of payment of fine additional 4 months RI in each case by Special Judge vigilance Jeypore, Arun Kumar Mishra. The investigate officer S.K.Biswal, Inspector of vigilance filed the charge sheet. M.Balaji Rao special public prosecutor vigilance has conducted the cases on behalf of the state
