CMAS raised voice against naxalite violence

Bandhugaon.(Koraput).August.10: The Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh(CMAS) activists of Bandhugaon in Koraput district raised their voice against naxalite violence. In a commemoration of 1st death anniversary of Late Arjuna Kendruka the former Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh Bandhugaon Secretary, who was killed by naxalites on 10th August 2010, they have organised a big rally and meeting. Thousands of Adivasis with red flags and banners took a rally from Alamanda to Edugumavalasa near Bandhugaon and organised a public meeting at the cremation spot of their leader Arjuna Kendruka. The followers of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh paid rich tribute to their beloved leader Arjun.

The Sangh artists performed traditional dance and sung revolutionary songs. The leaders from Odissa and Ahdhra Pradesh attended and urged the people to continue their democratic movement to fulfill the dreams of their beloved leader, despite the threats and violence by Maoists against Adivasis. They said Arjun played a remarkable roll in the formation of Chasi Mulia Adivsi Sangh in Bandhugaon and fought for the rights of the tribes. He sacrificed his life for the noble cause.

They demanded to withdraw all the cases booked against innocent Adivasis who involved in democratic land movements in Bandhugaon block. In the memory of Arjun Sangh constructed a Sahid pillar at the cremation spot and paid warm tribute. Kondagori Paidmma the founder president of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh presided. S.Jhansi Coordinator of All India Khet Mazdoor Kisan Sabha, Andhra Prtadesh unit president, K.Kotayya, Secretary Andhraprdesh Raitu Kuli Sangh, Srikant Mohanty, State Convenior of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh also spoke, among other leaders.
