Jeypore gearing up for Ganesh Chaturthi

Jeypore August 20: Jeypore is gearing up for celebrating "Ganesh Chaturthi", the popular festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The 11 day long festival begins on 1st September this year and ends with the immersion of the idols on 11th September.
Artisans are busy giving the last touches to the thousand of Ganesh idols that are made every year. Pooja Organizers are busy in making pooja pandals in various places of the town. In Maharani Peta, Bhupati Veedi, Boi Veedi, Prasadrao Peta, Sombaru Tota, Millu Veedi, Kotta Veedi, Old Fish Market, Madala Sahi, Main Raod and Vikram Arts & Sculpture school,  artisans are working round the clock giving finishing touches to the Ganesh idols of all hues and forms.
