Revenue Inspector gets one year jail for demanding bribe

Jeypore August 25: Jeypore Special Vigilance Judge A.K.Mishra sentenced  Revenue Inspector A.Kumar Swamy,  to one year jail and a fine of  Rs.10,000/-, in default of payment of fine further to undergo three months additional imprisonment for demanding a bribe of Rs.500/- to issue land documents.
According to the case file, in the year 2009 A.Kumar Swamy who was working as Revenue Inspector in Digapur and presently posted in Kakkirigumma of Koraput district  allegedly demanded Rs 500/- from Mr Kasi Vishwanath Harijan resident of Digapur to issue his land documents. A case was filed on 27 April 2009 on a complaint by Mr Kasi Vishwanath. After examining the case the judge sentenced A Kumar Swamy. Vigilance Public Prosecutor M.Balaji Rao prosecuted the case.
