Widespread protests against Anna Hazare's arrest

Jeypore August 19: The arrest of Anna Hazare, Anti-graft activist in Delhi ahead of his indefinite fast against corruption sparked massive protests across undivided Koraput district.
Communist party of India, Koraput district unit organised a huge rally in Jeypore. Party members holding National flags and banners against corruption shouting anti government slogans, demanding an unconditional release of Anna Hazare, immediate implementation of Jan lokpal bill, to bring Primie Minister within the ambit of lokpal and to declare the black money in abroad as national property, took out a procession across Jeypore town despite rain. Later they've submitted a memorandum to sub collector quoting the demands.

District Communist Party members Yudistar Roulo, Jeypore Zonal Secretary Sukant Kumar Adhikari, Labour Union leader Pramod Kumar Mahanty, CPI party Boipariguda Secretary Balaram Nayak, Prashant Behera, Hitesh Kumar Beniya, R. Shib Shankar, Padmana Harijan, Udaynath Harijan, Debgana Harijan and Neelambar Harijan took part among others.

Students of Vikram Deb Autonomous College staged a rally against Anna Hazare's arrest in Jeypore. Student Union Secretary K. Rameshwar Achary, members Sukant Mahapatro, Raghu Nayak, Satish Sahu, Purushottam Nayak, Megashish Patnaik etc conducted the rally. SEWA paper mill employees and youth of Jeypore organised separate rally's to support Anna Hazare's fight against corruption.
