BJD "Rasta rokho" against petrol price hike 
Jeypore September 21: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party Jeypore staged a "Rasta Rokho" near bus stand junction on NH-43 highway against hike petrol prices here on Wednesday.
Several BJD leaders took part in the protest. Party workers under the leadership of General Secretary BJD Koraput district, Mr. Srinivas Balarai, holding party flags shouted anti central government slogans. The leaders said the UPA government would face the biggest wrath of public in the next elections for its bungling in revising the prices of petroleum products. They demanded the government to roll back the increased prices and warned to intensify their agitation if their demand isn't fulfilled.

Stopped vehicles
Several BJD leaders speaking on the occasion said the government has increased the petroleum products prices third time in the last few months, thereby imposing severe burden on people. Already the poor and middle class people facing trouble due to sky touching prices of essential commodities and the increase in fuel prices is an additional burden, they said. Several vehicles were stopped on the high way due to the "Rasta Rokho" agitation for an hour. Town police team led by Jeypore town police officer Mr.S.N.Satapati has been beefed up at the agitation spot to prevent any unwanted incidents. BJD leaders Mr.Srinivas Balarai, Mr.Ajit Kumar Das, Mr.Shiv Patnaik, Mr.Sukanth Tripathi, Mr.Santosh M, Mr.Ajit Kumar Das, Mr.Santosh Mishra, Mr.Bhawani Shankar Panda, Mr.Srinivas Rao and Mr.Sunil Patnaik spoke among others.
