Foundation stone for Niger Oil Plant
Jeypore October 27: A foundation stone was laid for the construction of Niger oil plant,  for the benefit of Niger seeds farmers in the region,  by the District Collector Mr.Sachin Ram Chandra Yadav near Koraput on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion he said, a sum of Rupees 25,85000/- has been allotted  for this project under the Naxalite affected areas development scheme "Integrated Action Plan" and a similar project also being planned at Laxmipur. He further said that thousands of Niger seed farmers especially women farmers of the district are going to be benefited by these projects. Since more women are involved in the cultivation of Niger seeds in Koraput district the responsibility of the project has been handed over to the District Mission Commission, he added. Superintend of Police Koraput, Mr.Anoop Kumar Sahu, The Project Director of District Village Development Society Mr. Choodamani Shetty, Additional District Collector Mr.Pabitra Mandal, ITDA Project Administrator Mr.Tuku Barik, DPC Mr.Bala Mukund Bhuyan, Sub Collector Mr.Ramakant Nayak and District Secretary "Mission Shakti" Mrs.Seeta Kumari were took part in the inaugural ceremony.
