Swachchata Utsav Campaign Launched in Koraput District

Koraput. October.15: In a bid to create awareness on sanitation among people, a month long district level Swachchata Utsav campaign was launched on Saturday at Government Girls High School in Koraput.
District Collector Mr. Sachin Rama Chandra Yadav hoisted the Utsav flag and inaugurated the campaign. The campaign was organised by the District Water and Sanitation Mission, Koraput. The District Public Health division, Education Department, Children & Women Welfare Department, Panchayati Raj, DRDA are going to participate in the campaign.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Yadav explained about the importance of sanitation in daily life. He said the main aim of Swachchata Utsav is to create awareness among the people of Koraput district, on sanitation and safe drinking water program. The officials, students and people who took part in the ceremony took an oath to abide by the sanitation in daily life. Hundreds of students participated in a huge rally organised on the occasion. In first phase the program will be cover the 273 epidemic effected villages. The block level Swachchata Utsav campaign will be launched on 17th of this month. In a cultural event organised on the occasion, students performed Demsa dance, a famous folk dance of  Koraput district.
