Jeypore. October. 9: Mr.Raghunath Patnaik the farmer Finance & Law minister of Orissa called upon the youth to follow the foot prints of Utkalamani Gopabandu Das who scarified his life for separate Orissa movement and betterment of downtrodden people.
On the occasion of Utkalamani 134 th birth anniversary a function was organised  at Municipal Girls High school by the Koraput Uthkal Sammilani Jeypore on Sunday. Addressing as Chief Guest Mr.Patnaik remembered the political and social activities of Utkalmani Gopabandu and paid rich tribute. he said that Utkalamaini fought for the social and financial development of the poor people but it is not achieved so far, particularly in Adivasi region of  undivided Koraput where 80 percent Adivasi and Dalits are living. The prime responsibility of the politicians and  intellectuals to work for them then only society will develop.

Mr.Hari Hara Mishra, member and educationalist said that the Koraput district is sharing huge revenue with the Government but not spending proportionately for the development of the district. He said that no development will take place until unless create a separate State for Koraput and Kalahandi region. Mr.Narasinga Mishra, Mr.Binod Mahapatra the Vice President of State Utkal Sammilani, Mr. Upendra Swain spoke on the occsion and paid floral tribute to Utkalamani. Mr.Jagadish Sahu President of Utkal Sammilani presided the function.
