Congress leaders paying tributes to former Prime Minister
Indira Gandhi on her 94th birth anniversary 
Jeypore November 19: Koraput District Congress Committee paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 94th birth anniversary, here on Saturday.
Indira Gandhi's birth anniversary is celebrated as National Integration Day in India. Several congress leaders including former law minister and veteran congress leader Mr.Raghunath Patnaik offered floral tributes to the portrait of Indira Gandhi at District Congress Bhawan here.


A function, presided by the Vice President of DCC Mr.Jagadish Prasad Sahu, was organised at District Congress Bhawan to mark the day. Speaking on the occasion Mr.Raghunath Patnaik said that Mrs.Gandhi always worked for national integrity and dedicated her life for the poor people, that's the reason why she's still remembered as 'Amma' (Mother) by the tribes of Koraput district and occupied a permanent place in their hearts.


He remembered her contribution towards the country as well as congress party and called the party ranks to follow her footsteps to integrate the party. He further said that the Congress led UPA government in the center spending crores of rupees on various welfare and development schemes for the people and urged congress members to work in tandem to ensure proper implementation of the schemes. Congress leaders Mr. Krishna Chandra Nepak, Mr.Binod Mohapatro, Mr.Ram Nayak and Mr.Kshetra Mohan Majhi were spoke among others.
