Abducted Laxmipur MLA released by Maoists

Jeypore.April.26: The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Laxmipur of Koraput district in Odisha Mr.Jhinna Hikaka who had been kidnapped and held hostage by Maoists for more than a month was released by the Maoists on 25th April.

The rebels released Mr. Jhinna Hikaka the 37 year old ruling BJD MLA near the outskirts of Balipeta village under Narayanapatna block as per the decision by a peoples court. Some of maoist followers handed over him to the advocate Mr.Niharanjan Patnaik and Smt.Kousalya wife of Mr.Hikaka.

Mr.Jhinna said to the press that, the Maoists treated him well and they took good care of him. In a peoples court held by the Andhra-Odisha border special zonal committee, Mr.Hikaka has  given written undertaking that, he will resign from MLA post and BJD party,  and will lead a normal life as a common citizen.
